Our Dream List

Who doesn't love to dream? There is surely something that you'd love to do, at the top of your wish list, if the opportunity arose. Well, we thought we'd share ours in hopes that perhaps just one could come true during our "Drive to 25!". Why not try??? We'll see what happens....

- get a picture taken with Daniel and Henrik Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks

Happy 1st Halloween!

If you don't know already, we are huge Vancouver Canucks fans! Growing up outside of Vancouver in a hockey-loving family, our childhood memories consist of cheering on our beloved Canucks. From our first Halloween costumes as Canuck cheerleaders, to our decked out 'Canucksmobile' bombing around Ontario (and we've had several 'interesting' encounters!), we have been and continue to be fans through and through. We still remember where we were during Game 7 of the Stanley Cup finals against the Rangers in 1994, and are thankful that our boss let us off work early last year (knowing how important it was to us) to watch Game 7 of the finals against Boston (although we'd like to forget that one!). You see, our devotion to the Vancouver Canucks began long before they were the team with 'the twins'. But, when Daniel and Henrik Sedin were drafted, we now had even more reason to root for Vancouver. Twins cheering for their favourite team, which now had twins - what could be better??! So, our dream, well that's easy! We would love to get a picture with Daniel and Henrik - what a full circle moment that would be for us!

 GO CANUCKS GO!

*Side note: For our 21st birthday, we were thrilled to get tickets to the Canucks vs. Maple Leafs game in Toronto and couldn't wait for the game in February 2009. It was to be a monumental game, as it was Mats Sundin's first game back in Toronto since being a Leaf (he ended up scoring the shootout winner..for the Canucks!). However, when the day finally arrived, we had to watch the game from our couch at home, as we both conveniently came down with the flu that morning. We were crushed, as were our parents who ended up going to the game in our place. It wasn't meant to be! Hope we get another chance!!

We're all set - thanks to our awesome Christmas gifts!

- Go on an African Safari

Think zoo, with an added element of suspense and risk....We've always wanted to go on a safari - there's just something about being in the wild and witnessing nature at its most pristine and purest state that has us captivated! Not that we wouldn't be freaked out or anything, that's just all in the fun! Seeing the breathtaking Victoria Falls in Zambia, climbing Table Mountain in Cape Town, and sandboarding in Namibia are components to what we think would be an INCREDIBLE future adventure! We know one day we will make this experience of a lifetime a reality, but for now, it definitely fits into the 'dream' category. Unless we win the lottery....but that means buying tickets, and we usually forget!

- See our Mom's dream come true...

Ever since we were little, we've known our Mom's ultimate dream. She's been very clear. It all started after one trip to a second hand store when she bought a long yellow dress. That dress turned out to be the inspiration for her now-famous Snow White costume. Hand-crafted to perfection, down from the headband to the shoes, our Mom epitomizes the Disney princess. Every year at Halloween, she pulls out the costume, wears it proudly to work where she enchantes her kindergarten students; some even wear their own Snow White costumes just to be like 'Mrs. Mac'. At home while giving out candy, she always receives multiple compliments on her homemade costume. Many years ago on our family trip to Disneyland, Mom searched every shop for an adult sized Snow White outfit, but to no prevail. We were secretly happy - nothing could top her original!! She's said ever since the costume was born that her ultimate dream would be to act as Snow White in a parade at the Disney theme park. How fitting!! We'd absolutely love to see her waving her hand as Snow White - we know she would pull it off with the grace and poise of a true princess! This would surely make her the happiest person at the happiest place on Earth (and us the happiest daughters)! Our mom has always taught us to dream big, so here we are! Seeing our Mom's dream come true would be the ultimate dream come true for us too :)

  1. Wow - what a shock and surprise to see me here! You girls are too funny! What a coincidence that I was just telling some people about my dream wish today. I hope your Sedin picture comes true. I know from first hand experience that you are the most devoted CANUCK FANS EVER!!
